My Coaching Philosophy

I am not going to skirt around it: Agile Transformations are challenging, whether within yourself or your organization. Many problems have no set guidelines. It is up to you, your coach, and your team to experiment with the vast Agile toolbox, matching what works to your values and finding ways to enable optimization in your value stream and work methods. All of this while continuing to facilitate a learning, collaborative, and inclusive culture.

That is no small task, and I absolutely love navigating this process with others. I especially enjoy transforming in high-compliance settings. These types of environments provide an extra challenge for industries sometimes left behind in the Agile world. I love seeing the look on my coachee’s who have been hitting their head against a particular wall for years, finally being able to lift up, and take a breath!

I cannot wait to help all of you get some well deserved successes after all your hard work.

Where I’ve Been,

Where We’re Going

I was born in Norfolk, VA and grew up there with my two older sisters and an older brother.

My mom gifted me with a curiosity for knowledge while my dad gifted me with tenacity and a laugh that you can hear down any long hallway. I am so grateful to have them both as role-models and advocates in my life.

Such a cute baby!

I left Norfolk at the age of 15 for college at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, VA. I transferred two years later to the University of Montana, which forever solidified my love of the western United States. This early start in college subsequently led to an early start in my career. My first internship was working for the University of Montana UMOnline program as a designer and requirements engineer. With this internship began my long standing career in IT and process management.

Always knew I was going places.

After UoM, I was able to apply my skills across a variety of industries such as education, retail, food service, and banking.  Along the way, through diligence and a love of process management, I was able to move up from designer to IT process manager. When I moved down to New Mexico and joined Sandia National Laboratories as a contractor for SAIC I got my first taste of Agile and dove right in. I got my SPC certification in 2018, taught by the amazing Ken France, and attended my first SAFe Summit in 2019!

My 1st Hot Air Balloon Festival.

I drank from the Agile fire-hose and got completely hooked on this better way of doing business. I wanted to tell everyone, and read everything I could about Agile. I wanted to change my whole organization. My goals were lofty, but with the Agile Manifesto on my side I believed I could achieve them, and more importantly I could help others achieve the value they were sorely missing in their industries. This started me on my path to becoming a Business Agility Coach.

Now, here I am! Ready and willing to help you and your organization feel the fire that I felt, and see the change that I have with Business Agility.

When I am not transforming organizations or reading up on the latest Agility book, I am out playing with my beautiful rescue dog Patrick, visiting a local brewery/distillery, or partaking in all things active, nerdy, or eccentric. My current and most active hobby is a mixture of boxing and playing a LARP sport named Amtgard.

Slayers gotta Slay

Because we all love seeing more pets! This is my fur baby, Patti. He’s my sweet Pit Bull/ German Shepard /Mutt. Most days he can be found curled up next to my desk on his fluffy pillow and dressed up in one of his various sweaters that he picked out that day.
